The last two Round 17 games were made up on Wednesday ahead of the final round of games over the weekend.  Stephanie Mavunga and Polkowice had an easy 105-51 win over GTK Gdynia.  Megan Gustafson and Arka Gdynia won the other game 78-57 over Sleza Wroclaw.  The last round started on Friday with Natasha Mack and Lublin’s 61-55 win over Bydgoszcz.  Erica Wheeler and Polkowice clinched the top spot and continued to hold the psychological edge for the playoffs by prevailing 81-78 in overtime over Morgan Bertsch and Arka Gdynia on Saturday.  The final day of games included Gorzow’s 88-63 win over Monika Jasnowska and Sleza Wroclaw.  Aleksandra Pszczolarska and Torun rallied to pull out of last place with a 58-53 win over Jessica January, who secured the points and assists titles, and Zaglebie Sosnowiec.  KK Houser had a good game for Poznan, but they lost to Polonia Warszawa 88-66.

Two makeup games were played on Wednesday ahead of this round.  Anna Winkowska and Aleksandra Parzenska teamed up to help GTK Gydnia stun KK Houser and Poznan 78-55 to finish Round 16.  Round 17 was completed with Megan Gustafson and Arka Gdynia’s 88-79 win over Jillian Alleyne and Bydgoszcz.  GTK Gdynia was looking for another win on Saturday and had the lead at halftime, but Bydgoszcz prevailed 75-63.  Considering the recent loss to Gdynia’s reserve team, KK Houser and Poznan did keep it respectable before losing 86-58.  Polkowice rolled past Gorzow 87-47.  Polonia Warszawa won 75-57 at Torun on Sunday and Lublin coasted past Zaglebie Sosnowiec 93-69.

Games were made up on the weekdays before this round was played over the weekend.  Round 12 was completed on Tuesday with Artemis Spanou leading Polkowice past Polonia Warszawa 87-53.  Arka Gydnia was back at full strength in an 86-71 Round 14 win over Sosnowiec.  Courtney Hurt and Borislava Hristova teamed up to lead Gorzow past Jovana Popovic and Poznan 92-74 in the last game from the last round.  Round 9 finished on Friday with Lublin’s 84-65 win over Polonia Warszawa.  This round started on Saturday with Alice Kunek and Megan Gustafson helping Gdynia double up Torun 94-47.  The other game was not close either with Polkowice rolling to a 103-46 win over Poznan.  Loryn Goodwin and Polonia Warszawa had a much better second effort against Lublin on Sunday, taking it to overtime before the visitors left with a 79-76 win.  Sarah Sagerer led Sosnowiec past GTK Gdynia 74-59.  Bydgoszcz did enough in the final quarter to win 69-63 over Sleza Wroclaw.

Before the bulk of this round was played over the weekend, a game from Round 17 was played on Wednesday.  Chennedy Carter helped Poznan take the lead at the break, but Natasha Mack and Kamiah Smalls helped Lublin win 92-68 with a strong second half.  This round started on Saturday with a 74-61 Polonia Warszawa win over GTK Gdynia.  On Sunday, Patricia Bright and Sleza Wroclaw edged Zaglebie Sosnowiec 81-78.  Aleksandra Ziemborska and Stephanie Mavunga led in scoring and Artemis Spanou had a triple-double as Polkowice walloped shorthanded Torun 101-52.  Lublin surprised Gdynia late for a 61-57 win.

With neither team involved in cup play, a game from Round 15 was made up last Saturday and Jessica January led Sosnowiec past Anna Pawlowska, Klaudia Sosnowska, and Polonia Warszawa.  Lublin won 93-69 at Torun on Wednesday in a Round 16 game.  This round started on Saturday with Polonia Warszawa building a big lead after halftime only to need to hold on in the final quarter for a 77-75 win over Sleza Wroclaw.  Gdynia beat their reserve team 88-38.  Erica Wheeler lifted Polkowice past Martina Fassina and Lublin 79-68.  On Sunday, Chennedy Carter fueled a strong second half for Poznan for a 76-74 win over Evelyn Adebayo and Torun.  A full round was finally able to be completed as scheduled with Gorzow’s 71-65 win over Bydgoszcz.

Even setting aside the issues with playing all the necessary games to determine how the cup would be seeded, the competition had further chaos with Sleza Wroclaw having to drop out late.  Lublin was then advanced to the semifinals, preventing the possibility of having to play five games in six days, and the remaining teams were matched on Friday.  Facing the second division entrant from the the University of Gdansk, Bydgoszcz wanted to take care of business as quickly as possible and they built a big lead by halftime to win 94-54.  Megan Gustafson led Gdynia past Bydgoszcz 81-65 in the first semifinal on Saturday.  Erica Wheeler helped Polkowice have the better of the second half in a 79-74 win over Lublin.  A trophy was on the line on Sunday and there was a potential for a message to be sent for the rest of the season and it was delivered by Erica Wheeler as she could not be stopped in Polkowice’s 78-70 win over Gdynia.

Two games in this round were postponed for virus reasons, but there was a big surprise on Saturday with GTK Gdynia’s 61-56 upset of Torun.  Poznan decided on drastic roster changes for the rest of the season and got a strong debut from Chennedy Carter, but lost to Sleza Wroclaw, which was led by Patricia Bright and Julia Drop, 86-81.  Sunday’s game was an 81-64 Lublin win over Gorzow.
