Lower Group:

After the division of the teams the lower group of four teams is playing a double-round robin while the top six teams play each other once so there was an extra round in this group played on Thursday.  Bnei Yehuda is hoping that the games against weaker foes will give them the chance to pick up a win, but that did not happen in a game where both teams were shorthanded as Bria Goss got a triple-double to lead Maccabi Raanana to a 70-58 win.  It was much closer in the other game as Breanna Richardson and Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion beat Alexis Jones and Ramat Hasharon 82-79.

Monday’s games started with Jordan Hooper and Elitzur Holon beating Teanna Muldrow, Bria Goss, and Maccabi Raanana.  Shorthanded Ramat Hasharon struggled mightily against Hapoel Petah Tikva as the scoring of Khadijiah Cave and Alexis Peterson and a triple-double from Monique Reid helped Hapoel Petah Tikva roll to a 104-64 win.  Bnei Yehuda is still winless after losing to Jaime Nared and Elitzur Ramla 75-59.  Adut Bulgak and Ramat Hasharon beat Crystal Bradford and company 73-59 in Herzliya.  A rare Tuesday game ended the round as Danielle Adams led Maccabi Ashdod and Chelsea Hopkins had a triple-double in an 80-61 win over Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion.

A full round of midweek games was played on Thursday, starting with Adut Bulgak and Maccabi Ramat Hen beating Elitzur Ramla 81-59 to keep them from pulling away from the rest of the top teams.  Jillian Alleyne and Ashleigh Fontenette helped Elitzur Holon fend off Hapoel Petah Tikva 83-82 as the visitors leaned on their import trio of Khadijiah Cave, Monique Reid, and Alexis Peterson for the entire game, but came up short.  Another exciting game saw Crystal Bradford and Tamera Young keep Herzliya in the hunt for the top half with an 83-75 win in overtime over Shae Kelley and Elitzur Holon.  Teanna Muldrow and Bria Goss led Maccabi Raanana, which also hopes for a late surge as they beat Ramat Hasharon 82-63.  Bnei Yehuda is still winless after losing to Danielle Adams, Victoria Vivians, and Maccabi Ashdod 89-71.

Another full round of games on Monday included an entertaining encounter that saw Allisha Gray lead Elitzur Ramla only to see the league’s best team so far fail to contain Danielle Adams and Victoria Vivians to lose 80-75 to surging Maccabi Ashdod.  In Herzliya, Shavonte Zellous had a successful debut, joining Tamera Young as they beat Kaela Davis and Ramat Hasharon 81-69.  Hapoel Petah Tikva got their entire import trio of Monique Reid, Khadijiah Cave, and Alexis Peterson firing to keep Andrea Riley and Bnei Yehuda winless 103-80.  Elitzur Holon beat Maccabi Ramat Hen 60-57 to create a massive tie among teams in the top half looking to chase down the leaders.  The wide open season so far has teams in the lower half still thinking they could make a move as Maccabi Raanana beat Breanna Richardson and shorthanded Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion 71-56.

A makeup game was played on Thursday as Shayla Cooper and Andrea Riley had good games, but being down an import was too much for Yehuda to overcome in their quest for their first win as Jillian Alleyne and Breanna Richardson led Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion to a 90-74 win.  All teams were back in action on Monday.  The day started with Kaela Davis leading Ramat Hasharon, but falling 90-78 to Elitzur Ramla, which got its entire import trio of Allisha Gray, Jaime Nared, and Allison Hightower firing.  Hapoel Petah Tikva continues to sit right behind them as Monique Reid and Khadijiah Cave led them past Teanna Muldrow and Maccabi Raanana 81-69.  Maccabi Ashdod continued their push back into the top four as Victoria Vivians and Danielle Adams paced them in a 77-68 win over Crystal Bradford and Herzliya.  Jordan Hooper and Shae Kelley teamed up to lead Elitzur Holon past Jillian Alleyne and Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion 70-63.  Adut Bulgak and Maccabi Ramat Hen kept Yehuda winless as another big game from Andrea Riley could not get the shorthanded hosts closer than 75-66.

The round started on Monday as Elitzur Ramla beat Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion 60-49.  Linnae Harper and Ramat Hasharon kept Yehuda wiless 91-79 despite the best efforts of Jennie Simms and Andrea Riley.  Maccabi Ashdod was happy to have Shay Doron back as she and Victoria Vivians helped them beat Elitzur Holon.  Having a full trio of imports was critical for Hapoel Petah Tikva as Alexis Peterson, Khadijiah Cave, and Monique Reid were all firing in their 80-77 win over Alex Harden and Maccabi Ramat Hen.  There was extra basketball on Tuesday as Bria Goss led Maccabi Raanana, but Herzliya won 82-74 as Alexa Hart and Tamera Young provided the scoring and Crystal Bradford recorded an impressive triple-double.
