Even with a key player missing on Saturday, Sopron had their biggest win of the series 74-52 behind Jelena Brooks to complete a sweep of Szekszard for another championship.

Vicki Baugh and Cegled ended their season with an 82-61 win over BEAC on Friday.  Play ended on Saturday with Szigetszentmiklos looking to finish ahead of Denia Davis-Stewart and Pecsi, winning 76-70.

The championship series started on Saturday and Sopron looked ready to roll in the opener early.  Nikolina Milic and Szekszard stormed back to take the lead late only to fall 73-71.

Play continued on Saturday and Bozica Mujovic and Pecsi used a second half comeback to offset a great game by Vicki Baugh and win 73-71 to pull ahead of Cegled in the standings due to points deduction applied to the visitors earlier in the season.  BEAC has not played at their best during this phase with a big lead on the other teams and Szigetszentmiklos was able to escape with a 67-65 win.

The second half of play in this group started on Saturday with Timea Czank leading BEAC past Bozica Mujovic and Pecsi 92-76.  On Sunday, Sierra Campisano and Szigetszentmiklos built up a lead on Petra Holesinska and Cegled, but nearly lost it before still having a reasonable shot at avoiding last place with a 73-68 win.

Forced to play in a Monday deciding game before heading to the continental championship, Sopron made sure that DVTK would not even contemplate the possibility of replicating their last game, rolling to an 86-52 win.  The other series was settled Saturday with Nikolina Milic and Szekszard also avoiding an upset and winning 75-54 over PEAC.

Semifinals:

One series continued early on Friday so that Sopron could fit it in before their continental championship and now they have to play again on Monday after DVTK sprung a 66-60 upset in Miskolc.  The other series continued on Wednesday and it was PEAC that forced a deciding game with a 76-65 surprise against Nikolina Milic and Szekszard.

Semifinals:

One series started early on Tuesday so that all of it could be fit in before continental play and Sopron was wary of DVTK’s ability to surprise, winning the first game 68-49.  On Saturday, Nikolina Milic and Agnes Studer helped Szekszard take a big lead early and cruise to an 81-67 win over Ty Marshall and PEAC.

The halfway point of this stage was reached after this round of games.  On Friday, the two teams looking to avoid last place met with Pecsi getting the edge after a 74-65 win over Szigetszentmiklos.  BEAC stayed well ahead of Vicki Baugh and Cegled after an 80-63 win.
