Saturday’s games started with Janee Thompson and Halle winning 82-65 in Rotenburg.  Saarlouis will be disappointed after forcing overtime at Bad Aibling only to lose 62-59.  Wasserburg bounced back from some disappointments by beating Mariesa Greene and Freiburg 88-62.  The other half of the round was played on Sunday as Donau-Ries beat Herner 82-76.  Hannover stayed in the top half with a 75-49 win over Merritt Hempe and Chemnitz.  Keltern took care of business with a 76-65 win over Marburg.

German League Round 13 January 14th-15th

The last game from Round 6 was finally made up on a Thursday as Keltern beat Janee Thompson and Halle 73-67.  This round started on Saturday after the holiday break and cup games.  Janee Thompson led Halle past Maegan Conwright and Chemnitz 73-59.  Lena-Marie Bradaric and Bad Aibling won 81-64 at Herner as they look to survive in the second half of the season.  Kim Pierre-Louis led Donau-Ries to a 63-58 win in Rotenburg.  Keltern achieved a second shocking result by beating Shey Peddy and Wasserburg again, this time 75-72 on the road to take over the lead in the standings.  On Sunday, Kristen McCarthy had a good game for Freiburg, but Sabine Niedola and Angela Tisdale teamed up to give Saarlouis the 73-69 win.  Svenja Greunke and Katie Yohn also formed a power duo as Marburg beat Hannover 75-69.

German League Round 12 December 16th-18th

After last weekend was devoted to German Cup games, the league resumed play on Friday ahead of a long holiday break.  Merritt Hempe led Chemnitz to a 72-65 win over Marburg in a game that also featured Amanda Davidson inserting herself into the lineup while coaching.  On Saturday, Lindsay Sherbert and Bad Aibling beat Rotenburg 89-62.  On Sunday, Shey Peddy led Wasserburg past Hannover 84-60.  Jennifer Schlott and Donau-Ries beat Halle 77-57 as both teams look to climb out of the danger zone.  Herner won 83-61 at Freiburg.  The most intriguing game of the day saw Marina Markovic and Keltern end any suspense early to put some distance between them and Saarlouis in the standings with a 90-62 win.

On Saturday, Bad Aibling used exceptional balance to beat Donau-Ries 87-58.  Svenja Greunke led Marburg past Halle 86-77.  On Sunday, Hannover beat Saarlouis 64-61.  Wasserburg had no trouble staying atop the standings as they beat Chemnitz 99-46.  Kristen McCarthy led Freiburg to a 68-63 win over Rotenburg as the teams in the bottom half of the standings sit very close together.  Keltern is still in second place as they beat Herner 81-68.

All games were played on Sunday to maximize the length of the international break.  Sabine Niedola and Saarlouis continued their strong season by beating Chemnitz 65-49.  Keltern still lurks behind the top teams after a 75-61 win at Rotenburg.  Jennifer Schlott and Donau-Ries beat Kristen McCarthy and Freiburg 77-66.  Halle kept Bad Aibling at the bottom of the standings by beating them 65-59.  Sonja Greinacher and Herner beat Melissa Jeltema and Hannover 82-73.  Wasserburg continues to sit on top of the standings after a 64-48 win over Marburg.

Soana Lucet and Wasserburg hit the century mark on Saturday with a 100-61 win at Halle.  Saarlouis failed to bounce back from disappointment losing 70-66 at Marburg despite the best efforts of Kristi Mokube.  On Sunday, Melissa Jeltema and Hannover beat Rotenburg 78-72.  It was the same scoreline in Chemnitz as Merritt Hempe and Maegan Conwright teamed up to lead the hosts past Herner.  Keltern continues to sit behind the top teams after winning 86-63 at Donau-Ries.  The weekend ended with Freiburg beating Bad Aibling 74-65.

Half of the games were on Saturday as Sonja Greinacher led Herner to an 83-61 win over Marburg.  Rotenburg beat Chemnitz 79-54 and Keltern beat Bad Aibling 77-63.  The most anticipated game was on Sunday as Wasserburg handed Sabine Niedola and Saarlouis their first loss 80-65 to reclaim the top spot in the standings.  Star performances were the key as Donau-Ries beat Hannover 82-76 as Kim Pierre-Louis and Aleksandra Racic led the hosts while Stefanie Grigoleit and Melissa Jeltema paced the visitors.  At the bottom of the standings, Jovana Vukoje and Freiburg beat Kimberly Pohlmann and Halle 91-78.

It was tough on Saturday, but Saarlouis stayed unbeaten by escaping Halle 84-81 as Sabine Niedola helped offset a big game from Janee Thompson.  Katie Yohn and Marburg beat Laura Dally and Rotenburg 84-57.  Wasserburg is ready to pounce on the top of the standings when the opportunity arises as they beat Herner 66-59.  Sunday’s battle between the two new teams in Hannover went to Bad Aibling 62-51.  Maegan Conwright, Margot Vidal, and Chemnitz kept Kimberly Pierre-Louis and Donau-Ries at the bottom of the standing 83-72.  Keltern is back to normal after last week’s cancellation and beat Freiburg 69-55.

Saarlouis had a tough game at Herner on Saturday, but stayed unbeaten with a 71-69 win.  Maegan Conwright and Margot Vidal led Chemnitz to a 74-65 win at Bad Aibling.  Shey Peddy and Wasserburg still lurk at the top of the standings after an 82-69 win over Petra Zaplatova and Rotenburg.  Melissa Jeltema had another excellent game as she led Hannover past Freiburg 81-76.  Keltern and Halle was postponed due to technical issues.  On Sunday, Donau-Ries was the last team to record a win as Kimberly Pierre-Louis led them to a 78-68 win over Marburg.

On Saturday, Herner went to Halle and won 83-76 despite the best efforts of Sara Hammond.  Marburg continued the rough introduction to the top league for Bad Aibling by beating them 78-67.  On Sunday, Saarlouis had a tough time with Rotenburg, but Sabine Niedola kept them as the only undefeated team with the 70-67 win.  Melissa Jeltema and Hannover looked to replicate Keltern’s path last season, but lost to them 69-59.  Wasserburg kept Donau-Ries firmly in the winless column as the trio of Soana Lucet, Nathalie Fontaine, and Milica Deura outscored the visitors on their own in a 114-68 win.  Freiburg got their first win of the season and left Chemnitz in a troubled spot 63-52.
