The season started on Friday with Bourges hosting Roche and Isabelle Yacoubou helped the home team build a lead before Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and the rest of the starting lineup for the visitors was strong in an 82-80 comeback win.  On Saturday, Johanna Muzet made her professional debut for Charnay, but they had a tough time with Villeneuve, losing 90-48.  Angers had a promising return to the top division, winning 73-58 at Hainaut.  Lyon was looking for a fresh start after a tough end to last season, but it did not look promising early in a 71-64 loss to Landerneau.  Landes ended the day with a 66-55 win at Tarbes.  Sunday’s game had Lattes Montpellier beat Charleville 60-51.

Tarbes was ultimately not able to play so Bourges advanced directly and the other three series concluded on Saturday.  Roche overturned the deficit they had from their home game by halftime, but Landes recovered and a 77-72 win was enough to push the final margin to 162-154 in their favor.  Lattes Montpellier got key players back and it proved to be a big difference as a strong second half got them a 67-54 win over Villeneuve for a 150-131 aggregate victory.  Lyon cranked up the tempo on Jaime Nared and shorthanded Charleville again, rolling to a 117-61 win for an impressive 238-154 final total.

The two-legged quarterfinals were supposed to start on Tuesday, but Tarbes had too many virus cases to safely field a team so Bourges was awarded the first game and the other three series played.  A wild game saw shorthanded Charleville put up a fight behind Jaime Nared and Sasa Cado, but Helena Ciak and Lyon won 121-93 as their depth helped them control the second half.  Lattes Montpellier was missing key players, but carry home an 83-77 lead after a win over Haley Peters and Villeneuve.  The last game of the day ended up being the closest, but Valeriane Vukosavljevic and Landes are bringing home a lead after a 85-82 win over Ornella Bankole and Roche.
