This has been an extremely troubling week for all Americans. Two presumably innocent black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, were both killed by police officers in what many say has become a pattern in police behavior. In addition, the killing of Alton Sterling was captured on video and the aftermath of the killing of Philando Castile was streamed on Facebook Live for the world to see. In another unspeakable attack, a sniper turned a peaceful protest over recent police shootings into a scene of chaos and terror killing five Dallas police officers and wounding seven late last night.

Social media has become millennials number one news source as many turn to platforms such as twitter and facebook to report and receive information. After the heartbreaking events of last night many expressed their outrage, disappointment, and fear for the direction in which America is headed. Many professional athletes shared their thoughts on Facebook, twitter and Instagram. For varying reasons, often times athletes are reluctant to speak out about social issues. That is another discussion in itself but last night and this morning many refused to hold back and let the world know how they were feeling. WNBA players are known to speak out on social issues and continually use their platform as professional athletes to spread their words to their many followers. Several players spoke up on social media and here are a few of their messages;
