All games in this round were played on Wednesday.  Sopron beat Polkowice 70-53 to remain all alone in second place.  Katerina Elhotova helped USK Praha keep themselves in third place by beating Jelena Dubljevic and Galatasaray 83-80.  Castors Braine missed a chance to move into contention for basketball after this stage by falling 62-52 at Bourges.  Dynamo Kursk were challenged by Villeneuve, but continue to be the competition’s lone undefeated team after a 63-57 win to close the day.

Nadezhda used a fast start in Orenburg to beat Wisla 67-61.  UMMC had to come back in the fourth quarter in Ekaterinburg to beat Avenida 60-50.  Sandrine Gruda has made an impact for Yakin Dogu University after joining recently as their 81-61 win over Lattes Montpellier kept them in first place.  Fenerbahce remains behind them after an 83-77 win over Schio.

Group A:

All games in this group were played on Wednesday.  Aleksandra Crvendakic and Sopron maintained their position in second with a 75-73 win over Galatasaray.  Nevena Jovanovic’s ruthless efficiency helped Villeneuve win 69-61 in Polkowice.  Valeriane Ayayi and Bourges overcame big games from DeWanna Bonner and Amanda Zahui B for USK Praha to win 86-72 to keep themselves in contention for play after the group stage.  Anete Steinberga was allowed to do what she wanted, but Epiphanny Prince and Dynamo Kursk continue to be the competition’s only undefeated team after a 72-60 win over Castors Braine.

Wednesday’s games started in Orenburg as the continued emergence of Brionna Jones still left Nadezhda short against Fenerbahce 66-64.  UMMC continues to solidify its place as they won 74-49 in Krakow against Wisla.  Avenida took care of business with a 67-44 win in Lattes.  The round ended on Thursday in Italy again as Yakin Dogu University maintained the top spot with a 72-65 win over Schio.

All games in this group were played on Wednesday as Galatasaray started with a 69-64 win over Villeneuve.  Castors Braine suddenly has momentum as Anete Steinberga and Celeste Trahan-Davis teamed up to help them escape DeWanna Bonner and USK Praha 68-67.  Dynamo Kursk remains the only undefeated team with a 98-70 win in Polkowice.  Jelena Milovanovic and Sopron looked to be cruising early in Bourges, but Valeriane Ayayi and the hosts rallied in the second half  to win 76-65.

Group B:

UMMC is showing more signs of rounding into form as they opened Wednesday’s action by pounding Lattes Montpellier 100-46 in Ekaterinburg.  In Orenburg, Anastasiya Shilova’s impressive shooting display nearly got Nadezhda a surprise win, but Kayla McBride and Yakin Dogu University kept their lead in the group by leaving with an 81-76 win.  A healthy Aerial Powers could be the extra piece that Fenerbahce needs in this tough group as they beat Leonor Rodriguez and Wisla 87-78.  the lone Thursday game would determine which team would end the first half of the regular season in a playoff place and it was Schio that did so by beating Avenida 60-50.

Dynamo Kursk remains the only undefeated team after jumping on Galatasaray early to win 102-45.  A key game in the battle for second place saw USK Praha go to Sopron and leave with the 77-71 win to move ahead of them in the standings.  The battle of French teams in Villeneuve went to the hosts 64-55 over Bourges.  Castors Braine was the last team to claim a win as Celeste Trahan-Davis lifted them past Alysha Clark and Polkowice 83-76

A full Wednesday of games started in Ekaterinburg, where Brittney Griner and UMMC moved back into a playoff place with a 64-50 win over Schio.  Yakin Dogu University was then able to seize first place with a 72-61 win over Fenerbahce.  Maurita Reid and Leonor Rodriguez teamed up to get Wisla their first win 85-67 in Krakow, sending Lattes Montpellier to the bottom of the standings.  Silvia Dominguez and Avenida still sit in favorable tiebreaker position after a 67-58 win over Nadezhda.

All games in this group were played on Wednesday.  Polkowice used a strong start to beat Gintare Petronyte and Galatasaray 72-67.  Sopron kept Castors Braine winless 83-59.  Amanda Zahui B and USK Praha remained in the last playoff place with an 88-51 win over Villeneuve.  Angel McCoughtry and Dynamo Kursk remained the only undefeated team with a 76-65 win at Bourges.

Wednesday’s games started with a battle of two Russian teams as UMMC beat Nadezhda 64-54 in Orenburg with each team missing their star guard.  Wisla is still winless after Jantel Lavender and Yakin Dogu University took out some frustration on them 87-59.  Fenerbahce beat Avenida 68-56 and had the chance to field their full roster for the first time.  The lone Thursday game saw Schio survive Lattes Montpellier 61-55 to finish the round atop the tiebreaker.

The first game in this group was in Kursk and there was plenty of scoring as Nneka Ogwumike and Sonja Petrovic helped Dynamo remain undefeated with a 109-88 win over Amanda Zahui B and USK Praha.  Polkowice used a balanced effort to beat Katherine Plouffe and Bourges 71-66.  Crystal Langhorne and Sopron continued their excellent start with an 83-73 win in Villeneuve.  Castors Braine gave up their lead in the second half, wasting a good game from Celeste Trahan-Davis and missing a golden opportunity for their first win to lose to Galatasaray and their duo of Gintare Petronyte and Allie Quigley 72-71.

Group B:

The first game on Wednesday was the rematch of a thrilling semifinal from last season.  It was a new cast of characters for Fenerbahce, but Ana Dabovic helped them repeat the result with a 73-71 win over UMMC in Ekaterinburg.  Yakin Dogu University then won 67-62 in Salamanca to hand Avenida its first loss.  Schio did just enough in the fourth quarter to escape Krakow with a 74-72 win over Cheyenne Parker and winless Wisla.  Maria Cherepanova had a good game for Nadezhda in Lattes, but the hosts were the only home team to win in the group and finally picked up their first win 76-69.

A full Wednesday of games started in Orenburg as Schio recorded an impressive 76-46 win over Nadezhda.  Ana Dabovic and Fenerbahce used a strong start to beat Lattes Montpellier 79-63.  Yakin Dogu University looked to get a statement win at home, but Brittney Griner and UMMC showed that it is still a step up to get to Europe’s elite as they won 79-70.  That left one unbeaten team in the group heading into the final game and Wisla Krakow looked to end that while picking up their first win, but Avenida dug deep in the second half and came up with the 62-57 victory.

Group A:

This group started the action on a busy Wednesday.  Dynamo Kursk rolled again at home, this time beating Villeneuve 83-68.  The duo of Allie Quigley and Jelena Dubljevic helped Galatasaray edge the fourth quarter and beat Amanda Zahui B and USK Praha 82-77 in Turkey.  Sopron escaped Poland with a 73-70 win over Polkowice as Alysha Clark tried to do everything for the hosts.  The day ended in Belgium, where a solid game from Merike Anderson still left Castors Braine short against Bourges 78-66.

The first game was in Poland as Nadezhda was able to dress more players with Emma Cannon leading them past Wisla 63-58.  In Lattes, Yakin Dogu University left France with an 80-56 win over BLMA.  In Spain, Avenida was able to grind out an impressive 56-43 win over UMMC.  The lone Thursday game was in Italy, as Schio beat Fenerbahce 62-49.

All games in the opening round were played on Wednesday.

Group A:

Sopron started their campaign well with a 72-55 win over Galatasaray in Hungary.  Sonja Petrovic provided some early added punch to defending champions Dynamo Kursk as they beat Antonia Delaere and Castors Braine 84-68 in Russia.  USK Praha prevailed over Bourges 64-61 in the Czech Republic.  It took a strong second half in Villeneuve for the other French team in the group to win as they beat Polkowice 65-60.

The day started with a first look at a full strength UMMC side as they beat Wisla 79-68 in Russia despite the best efforts of Maurita Reid.  The storyline that emerged before the games played out in Istanbul.  Nadezhda only ended up dressing eight players, only handing time to seven of them as they put up a credible fight against Fenerbahce before losing 67-61.  Jolene Anderson was a late arrival after sorting out the paperwork as she nearly led Schio to a win, but Kayla McBride and Yakin Dogu University held on 67-64.  Avenida completely stifled Lattes 64-34 in Spain.

EuroLeague Quarterfinals Game 1 March 7th

All four quarterfinals series started on Tuesday.  Diana Taurasi and UMMC had no trouble in Ekaterinburg, beating Schio 92-47.  It was a similar story in Orenburg, where Nadezhda beat USK Praha 80-57.  Dynamo Kursk was on the ropes for a while as they tried to avoid their first loss of the competition, but the duo of Angel McCoughtry and Nneka Ogwumike helped them beat Bourges 76-71.  Candace Parker provided an immediate impact in her debut for Fenerbahce as they beat Jelena Milovanovic and Avenida 78-68.  Each series will continue on Friday, with four teams returning home knowing that they need a win to extend their campaigns.
