Turkish League Quarterfinals Game 2 April 25th-26th

Series continued on Monday, but a great game from Alexis Prince was not enough for Cankaya University to avoid being swept by Fenerbahce after an 86-65 loss.  The next opponent for the top seed will be Nesibe, which prevailed in a nervy affair 53-49 over Galatasaray.  Sweeps continued on Tuesday with an easy 83-57 win for Cukurova over Bursa.  That trend changed in the next game when Botas did enough in the second half to extend their season, winning 83-77 even though Sevgi Uzun helped out Teaira McCowan for Orman, which will host the last game on Friday.

The last game of the season was in Ashdod on Monday and Allison Hightower and the hosts looked to be in good position to win the championship after the first half.  In a series lacking road wins, it was the two players who had helped keep Elitzur Ramla stable through roster moves all season long in Emma Cannon and Alyssa Baron who helped them have a strong second half and grab the championship with a 77-73 win.

Spanish League Quarterfinals Game 1 April 24th

All four first games of the quarterfinals series were played on Sunday with lower seeds hosting in the two game format as the higher seeds will host on Thursday.  Girona was shorthanded again with another virus case, but did win the first game at Gipuzkoa 61-56.  The new format created the possibility of ties and that is what happened in Madrid between Estudiantes and Valencia at 59.  Sedis got contributions up and down the lineup in a 75-57 win over Zaragoza.  The last game of the day had Kahleah Copper lead Avenida past Gernika 85-70.

Turkish League Quarterfinals Game 1 April 22nd-23rd

The playoffs started with a pair of games on Friday.  Jessica Thomas led Nesibe past Melis Gulcan and Galatasaray.  Top seed Fenerbahce rolled to a 91-57 win over Cankaya University.  The other two series started on Saturday, including a 79-42 win for Cukurova over Bursa.  The last game was the closest as Teaira McCowan and Orman just managed to edge Jelena Dubljevic and Botas 72-71.  The venues will switch for the next games Monday and Tuesday with the home teams needing wins to extend their seasons and the visiting teams looking to advance to the next round.
