Both series started on Thursday as the first two games of the best of five format will be played on consecutive days at the same venue.  Sepsi is the favorite, but they had to rally in the second half behind Britney Jones and Brianna Fraser to win 75-68 against Constanta in the first game in Sfantu Gheorghe.  The other series is expected to be a good one and the first game showed plenty of promise as Stephanie Kostowicz and Satu Mare took the lead at home after halftime, but Arad, which had started the game strong, came back in the final frame thanks to the trio of Brankica Hadzovic, Tereza Vitulova, and Andreona Keys to win 95-93.
