All three series that needed to be decided were concluded on Wednesday. The first game was more than basketball as Temi Fagbenle and 3 seed Cukurova did win 95-66 to advance 181-133 on aggregate, but 6 seed Prometey handling of an impossibly tough situation was not forgotten. Laetitia Guapo and top seed Bourges quickly expanded the lead that they brought home against 9 seed Olympiacos and a 76-59 win pushed the final margin to 149-119. As the 21 seed, Lublin was looking to spring another upset in a game that would be played until a winner was determined, but Lyon dominated the middle quarters for a 78-54 win and a 144-120 aggregate for the 4 seed. FIBA’s removal of the two remaining Russian teams from EuroLeague had an effect on this competition as the top four seeds will now be joined by Reyer Venezia, Szekszard, Landes, and Galatasaray in the quarterfinals.
