The first series continued on Saturday and Alanna Smith and Adelaide started well in trying to extend their season, but Melbourne had the better of the rest of the game on their way to a 61-49 win and a shot at the championship. Virus cases struck Canberra before their scheduled game against Perth on Sunday. By rule, the series can be reduced to a two-game format as the league is committed to having the season end within the planned timeframe and when the series will be finished has not been determined yet.
