Group B:

February 11, 2022

The second games in Belgrade were spread out over two days with this group playing on Friday.  China looked strong again as Li Yueru led them past Mali 84-64.  While the start was not ideal for Nigeria, they controlled the rest of the game for a 67-65 win over France.  China qualified by picking up a second win and France qualifies regardless of what happens in their game on Sunday as they would come out on top in the event of a tiebreaker.  Mali needs a win to avoid elimination and Nigeria will want to win to avoid having their fate determined by the other two teams in the group.

Group A:

Games in this group continued on Saturday and the first one was excellent with the presumption that it would be the key game for qualification.  Scoring picked up in the final quarter as the teams went back and forth and it was Kang Lee-Seul’s range and Park Ji-Su’s triple-double that got them past Brazil 76-74.  After trailing narrowly for a large portion of the game, Serbia rallied in the fourth quarter for a 78-71 win over Australia behind Yvonne Anderson to help them and South Korea qualify.
