EuroLeague Round 9 December 14th-16th

Group A:

The round started in this group on Tuesday with Yvonne Anderson and Venezia giving Ekaterinburg an unexpectedly strong battle before losing 74-67.  Wednesday’s first game was Avenida’s 71-51 win at Riga.  Brionna Jones led USK Praha past MBA 92-61.  Szekszard is still winless after falling to Sydney Wallace and Lattes Montpellier, which now has a gap for the last quarterfinal place.

Group B:

This group started play on Wednesday with Riquna Williams and Tina Krajisnik helping Galatasaray have the better of the first half, but Natasha Howard and Arike Ogunbowale led Dynamo Kursk in a strong second half for an 80-70 win.  Elizabeth Williams and Alina Iagupova were the combination for Fenerbahce in a 93-76 win over Landes.  Girona did enough in the fourth quarter to pull away from Sandrine Gruda and Schio for a 65-55 win.  Thursday’s lone game saw Bernadett Hatar and Sopron pile on more misery on Gdynia with a 67-40 defeat.
