Group play continued on Monday with the last two teams making their debut. Syria naturalized Randi Brown before the tournament and she proved to be the key in their 78-71 win over Iran. They will play Lebanon on Tuesday for the direct spot in the semifinals while Iran knows that they will have the longer path to promotion. Naturalized players were also at the center of the Group B game as hosts Jordan made the biggest splash and won their opener 76-64. Indonesia could have clinched the semifinal spot with a win or helped themselves in a potential tiebreaker situation if they could have kept the game closer.
