All but one of the two-game series started this week as teams were either looking to win both games or prevail on aggregate score to qualify for the group stage. Wednesday’s action started in Slovakia as Charleville brings a solid 74-62 lead home to France after beating Piestanske Cajky. The other game of the day was in Belgium where Julie Wojta helped Tarbes leave Kortrijk with a 96-41 win, though Ashlyn Herlihy did make her professional debut for the hosts. A busy Thursday started with Elitzur Holon, which built a roster that was legal here and in league play, got a good game from Danielle Adams, but Aaryn Ellenberg-Wiley and Hatay left with a 76-59 win. Bydgoszcz had a solid 57-48 win in Greece over Eleftheria Moschatou as they host the next game in Poland. Kamiah Smalls and Lublin looked to be building a lead in Poland, but Spartak Moscow made the series closer before the game in Russia, losing 62-61 as Unique Thompson made her professional debut. Niki Lefkadas got good games from Kobi Thornton and Dominique McBryde, but there was not enough help as PEAC left Greece with an 80-63 win with the next game in Hungary. There was a lot of attention on Norway with Ulriken Eagles entering the competition and they got a good game from Stine Austgulen, but Liege brings a large lead with them back to Belgium after Brittany Brewer led them to a 98-57 win. A series that was expected to be quite even heads to Lugo, Spain with a single point separating the sides as Campobasso edged Ensino 65-64 in Italy. In Sardinia, Maggie Lucas fired Sassari past Erin Mathias and Grengewald Hueschtert 85-67 with the next game in Luxembourg. When London Lions started roster announcements, there was plenty of interest in how it would look on the court and early signs are promising after Holly Winterburn led them past Gran Canaria, which made a number of roster changes after spending their first season after promotion with largely the same group that got them there, 76-46. Maya Caldwell, Blanca Millan, and Lydia Giomi made their professional debuts for the visitors. The day ended in Iceland with Haiden Palmer leading Haukur past Simone Costa and Uniao Sportiva 81-76. Solrun Gisladottir made her professional debut for the hosts and Kasiyahna Kushkituah did the same for the visitors, who get ready to overturn the deficit when they head back to the Azores. There was one series that started on Friday in Hungary as Csata pulled away from Sweden’s Umea for a 77-62 win.
