AfroBasket 2021 Day 2 September 19th

The tournament continued on Sunday with the last four teams getting to make their debuts.  Four teams finished group stage play and now have rest before their next games.

Group A:

The last game of the day saw Cape Verde be the final team to start their tournament with a close game ending as a Kenya managed a 61-58 win.

Group B:

The great rivals squared off in this group and Angola had a good start in this competition to secure a 70-61 win over Mozambique.  Their next game will be against Nigeria for the top spot in the group while Mozambique will prepare as a last place team.

Group C:

This group started the day and Nadine Soliman and Egypt dominated the second half for a 102-58 win over Aicha Mara and Guinea.  Having played their two group games, Guinea is locked in to last place while Egypt will face Senegal for the top spot.

Group D:

Salimata Berte led Ivory Coast to a 69-49 opening win over Tunisia, which is the last place team in the group.  The Ivory Coast-Mali game on Monday will determine the group winner.
