The season format had been up for debate for a while, but the season did start on Friday as teams played in three locations with three games each this weekend. The first game was played in the Sfantu Gheorghe location and Biljana Pesovic and Ines Corda led Brasov past Chelsea Mitchell and Taneria Wilson, who along with Paula Lenart were making their professional debuts, and Targu Secuiesc 77-67. Hosts Sepsi won the other game 99-42 over Targoviste. Agronomia Bucuresti is hosting games and Anca Sipos had a good game, but they lost to Nikki McDonald, Denia Davis-Stewart, and Constanta. Their neighbors Rapid got good games from Florina Stanici and Natalia Burlakova to edge Alexandria 68-66. Satu Mare is hosting the last set of games and Ildiko Nagy helped Arad crush a young Oradea team 101-30. The day ended with the hosts beating Cluj-Napoca 75-50.
