There was plenty of excitement to start the season on Saturday. Elazig had a strong second half as they were slowly integrating Chennedy Carter into the team for her first overseas game. Alena Hanusova and Gamze Takmaz led the hosts, but visiting Cankaya University got big games from Shavonte Zellous and Tan White to win 105-102 in overtime. Ashley Walker led Orman past Hind Ben Abdelkader and Hatay 91-63. Alina Iagupova was back at her brilliant best for Cukurova in an 81-63 win over Botas. Ruthy Hebard had a strong first overseas game and Nesibe had a great debut with a 79-60 win over Adana. On Sunday, Dragana Nikolic did her best, but Samsun was completely overmatched in a 112-49 loss to Besiktas. The big rivalry game was scheduled for the opening weekend without full rosters, but Satou Sabally quickly endeared herself to the Fenerbahce fans in her first overseas game, leading them to a 64-61 win over Galatasary in a battle against her WNBA teammate also making an overseas debut Bella Alarie. Izmit edged Melis Gulcan and Kayseri 69-68 in overtime, spoiling overseas debuts for Ty Harris and Kylee Shook.
