The season started Saturday after cup games were played last weekend. Keltern figures to be one of the teams to beat again and Krystal Vaughn helped them past Heidelberg 73-59. The hosts had rookies Madison Nelson and Kyla Irwin making their league debuts. Herner beat Halle 58-55 fielding rookies Laura Stockton, Ae’Rianna Harris, and Dayna Rouse while Naheria Hamilton is a rookie for the visitors. Marburg has quite an experience roster although rookie Jordan Stotler played in their 76-55 win over Saarlouis, which fielded rookie Addison Richards and Braydey Hodgins. On Sunday, Sam Roscoe led Gottingen past Hannover 99-81 as the visitors had rookie Riley Lupfer making her league debut. Donau-Ries used a balanced effort to beat Osnabruck 90-71, but Kelly Campbell did stand out with a triple-double in her debut league game and Respect Leaphart also turned in a strong rookie performance. Alex Wittinger had her delayed league debut as Leonie Fiebich led Wasserburg past Freiburg 84-57.
