Group A:
The big game on Sunday ended up being the first one with the winner advancing from this group. Puerto Rico was the favorite entering the game, but Suchitel Avila, Anisleidy Galindo, and Yamara Amargo kept Cuba in it until the end, losing 83-81. Canada gave the home fans in Edmonton one last game to cheer about as they beat Cheisy Hernandez and the Dominican Republic 110-60.
