Group A:

The big game on Sunday ended up being the first one with the winner advancing from this group.  Puerto Rico was the favorite entering the game, but Suchitel Avila, Anisleidy Galindo, and Yamara Amargo kept Cuba in it until the end, losing 83-81.  Canada gave the home fans in Edmonton one last game to cheer about as they beat Cheisy Hernandez and the Dominican Republic 110-60.

The other group started with A’ja Wilson and the United States beating Colombia 104-48.  Brazil entered the day with a solid cushion to take the last spot, but Argentina still held out hope in front of their home fans, but Damiris Dantas led the visitors in a 77-55 win.
