Japan seized control of the game and the group early, beating South Korea 102-61 behind Nako Motohashi. The other game was for the last playoff place from the group and the ability to avoid having to play to remain in the top division and Taiwan rolled past India as expected by an 87-58 final margin.

The game of the day was for the top spot in this group and a bye into the semifinals and it was China surprising Australia by hanging on to a 70-69 win.
