5th Place Playoffs:

The critical games for the last two spots in Olympic qualifying were played first on Friday.  The Ivory Coast had the faster start, but the Democratic Republic seized control after halftime on their way to a 54-47 win.  Raneem Elgedawy and Egypt put themselves in strong position to take the last spot with one quarter to play, but after their own dramatic comeback earlier in the week, it was their turn to fall victim to another team as Angola escaped with a 68-66 win.

Semifinals:

After the consolation playoffs, it was time to resume the chase for the championship and Nigeria used a strong start to beat Mali 79-58.  Mozambique caught the hosts napping early, but Senegal charged out of halftime, tying it in the fourth quarter and them taking the lead for good on their way to a 60-57 win.
