The battle for the bronze medal was first and Serbia sent the fans home on a winning note after easing past Temi Fagbenle and Great Britain 81-55. That set the stage for the latest clash of titans in the final and Spain took the lead early, never looking back as they defended their crown and doomed France to a fourth consecutive silver medal with an 86-66 win behind Marta Xargay.
