The cup started with the quarterfinals on Thursday in Gyor. Janis Ndiba and ZTE opened up proceedings with a 76-53 win over BEAC. Szekszard eased past NKE 84-54. The hosts took on their rivals Sopron, falling 69-55. The day ended with Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and DVTK coming back to beat Sarah Imovbioh, Alyssia Brewer, and PEAC 87-81. On Friday, Evanthia Maltsi turned back the clock again for ZTE, but Szekszard emerged with a 74-64 win. Sopron then beat DVTK 72-51 although both losing teams knew that they still had one game to play. Saturday started with the third place game and Dora Medgyessy took on a bigger scoring role along with her usual passing to lead DVTK past ZTE 79-59. Yvonne Turner and Sopron built a lead early on their way to an 81-72 win over Szekszard to maintain domestic dominance.
