The playoffs started with weekend with a pair of games on each day. Saturday started with top seed Herner beating Janae Smith and Braunschweig 74-56. Kristen Gaffney had a good game for Freiburg, but Wasserburg managed to hang on to an 81-80 win as they try to reclaim their past glories now that the postseason has begun. On Sunday, Marburg beat Aliaksandra Tarasava and Hannover 90-69. Keltern showed that they meant business even with some struggles in the regular season, getting enough points from Kim Pierre-Louis and Ezinne Kalu to outscore Gottingen themselves in a 100-52 win. The lower seeds now need wins at home midweek to extend their seasons.
