Group A:

The round started on Wednesday out in Ekaterinburg with the hosts stopping some of Nadezhda’s momentum 77-52 and clinching a spot in the next round.  The race behind them is tight as Alexia Chartereau led Bourges past USK Praha 81-70.  Castors Braine had a good start, but Polkowice controlled the rest of the game to win 94-71.  On Thursday, Schio figured that it had momentum and got a good game from Jantel Lavender, but Villeneuve escaped with an 81-75 and kept itself in contention and created a gap as they still have the lead for the parachute into EuroCup.

Group B:

Dynamo Kursk opened up play in this group on Wednesday and Breanna Stewart and Sonja Petrovic led them to the 75-58 win over Olympiacos to officially clinch a spot in the next round.  Shey Peddy and TTT Riga were impressive again, going to Salamanca and beating Avenida 82-61.  Thursday’s games started with a Hatay team in crisis rallying behind Katsiaryna Snytsina and Riquna Williams and beating Haley Peters and Carolo, which had a lineup shuffle of its own, 74-66.  Cecilia Zandalasini and Fenerbahce rallied late to exorcise some demons from last year’s games against Sopron with an 84-80 win.
