After such a fast start to the season, there was one less game this week with an extra day of rest before Tuesday. Alaina Coates dominated the paint for Zhejiang, but Morgan Tuck and Shi Xiufeng helped Beijing gain the advantage outside in an 86-70 win. Quanitra Hollingsworth had no opposition inside as Shanxi beat Fu Jing and Hubei 99-69. Yelena Leuchanka and Sichuan beat Liu Jiacen and Heilongjiang 75-68. Hebei missed a golden opportunity to put themselves in the conversation with the more established teams, losing to Shandong 74-71. Zhu Ning tried to pick up the slack for Shaanxi, but their lack of depth was exposed in a 101-62 loss to Natasha Howard and Xinjiang. Liang Jiamei and Liaoning finally picked up their first win 85-65 over Alicia DeVaughn and Fujian. A battle of winless teams saw Stefanie Dolson and Sun Jie team up to lead Henan past Han Ziqi and Tianjin 73-51. At the other end of the standings, Li Yueru and Guangdong are still undefeated after handing Jiangsu their first loss 86-72. Jelena Dubljevic and winless Shanghai actually put in a credible effort before the rules were flipped in Bayi’s favor as the military team won 87-73 to stay atop the standings.
