This group started with a battle in the post as Evelyn Akhator led Nigeria, but Liz Cambage could not be contained as Australia won 86-68. The other game saw Turkey’s defense put the clamps on Argentina in a 63-37 win.

Hosts Spain had a tricky game against Japan, but a strong first half got them the 84-71 win. An ever faster start came in the last game of the day as Belgium completely dismantled Puerto Rico in the first half to cruise to an 86-36 win.
