The last game of this group started Wednesday’s action as Cuba took care of business to win 99-39 and take the top spot and move on with the Dominican Republic. Guatemala moved into the consolation bracket with the loss.

The two teams that were already advancing faced off to have an easier semifinal matchup and it was an excellent game. Hosts Puerto Rico built a lead in the first half, but Mexico closed the gap in the second half before falling 71-66 as Jennifer O’Neill was the difference. The other two teams were looking to get a bye in the consolation bracket. Costa Rica shook off a poor performance yesterday to nearly spring a surprise on the Bahamas, but came up short 60-57.
