Group A:
This group finished the day again as Cuba played for the first time and beat the Dominican Republic 85-52 behind Yamara Amargo. The expectation is that they will beat Guatemala on Wednesday to secure the top spot in the group, which would also lead the Dominican Republic to advance as well.

Group B:
Tuesday started with the one game in this group where the outcome was considered slightly in doubt. Mexico started fast to make sure that there was no upset as they beat the Bahamas 74-52. Their advancement was confirmed when hosts Puerto Rico bagelled Costa Rica in the first quarter on their way to a 113-20 win. Both teams will now face off for the group lead even though both know that they will also be playing next summer.
