Seven teams descended on Paramaribo in Suriname for the Caribbean Basketball Championship this week as the top three teams will qualify for the upcoming Centrobasket tournament to keep their Olympic hopes alive. The first three days will be a group phase with the top two teams in each group advancing.
Group A:
Sunday started with Anisleidy Galindo and Cuba beating the Bahamas 77-50 after a fast start.

Barbados started their tournament with a 79-39 win over Guyana. The hosts closed the day with a tough test against the Dominican Republic, losing 90-49.
