Turkish League Round 19 March 3rd-4th

The round started with more drama as Bornova failed to show up for their game against Adana Aski.  A game that was actually played ended up being quite exciting as the two teams took turns dominating with the Besiktas duo of Bernice Mosby and Erica Wheeler helping the overcome a terrible start against Brittney Sykes, Jasmine Thomas, and Orman to win 87-84.  Chelsea Gray led Botas past her former team Abdullah Gul University 76-66.  Sunday involved a big shakeup in the standings.  Istanbul University kept themselves from getting stranded in the standings as Claudia Pop and Rebekah Gardner teamed up to lead them past Mersin 78-72 despite the best efforts of Bria Hartley.  Alina Iagupova and Cukurova beat Samsun, which is in freefall, but still well above the fray, 68-60.  Galatasaray continued their push towards the last playoff place with a 72-67 win over Hatay.  That left the door open for Fenerbahce to move back into second place, which they did as Kia Vaughn helped them get a fast start to beat Yakin Dogu University 66-65 to give the rest of the league something to think about for the rest of the season.
