The first games of the playoffs were played on Wednesday.  Each series starts with the lower ranked team hosting the first game as the teams switch venues next week with the scores for the games combined to determine a winner.  An all-Hungary battle opened proceedings and 12 seed Szekszard will bring home a 76-67 lead after a win at 21 seed Gyor.  16 seed Wasserburg will have a much tougher time at home after 17 seed Saint-Amand dominated the game in France 80-47 behind Laura Garcia.

The rest of the series started on Thursday including the early game in Krasnoyarsk, where a good game from Mariona Ortiz still left 13 seed Namur with a 69-58 deficit against 20 seed Enisey.  Bria Hartley and 11 seed Mersin should feel comfortable after leaving Russia with an 81-66 win over MBA.  DeNesha Stallworth and Elzbieta Miedzik teamed up to lead 14 seed Bydgoszcz to an 86-68 win over DVTK in Miskolc.  A good game for Kahleah Copper helped 15 seed Gdynia leave Umea with a manageable 71-67 deficit.  23 seed Sepsi game back to beat 10 seed Olympiacos 59-55.  Fribourg may have been the last seed at 24, but had a good start at home thanks to Marielle Giroud before 9 seed Landes got the 71-64 win.
