The new season started with simultaneous tipoffs on Sunday.  Hannover beat Marburg 66-63 as Marie Bertholdt made her professional debut in the country of her parents in the loss.  The two newly promoted teams faced off in Gottingen to give each team the chance at a successful start and it was Veilchen that got the 74-60 win over Heidelberg.  Marissa Janning and Casey Smith had successful starts to their professional careers.  Kim Pierre-Louis was dominant for Donau-Ries and Sami Hill had a strong professional debut as they beat Abigail Asoro and Chemnitz 82-64, spoiling a good first professional game for Kendall Noble.  Keltern picked up what would be the only road win of the day at Halle 78-66.  A number of players made their professional debuts or returns to Europe after their college careers as Milan Quinn and Katarzyna Kiejdrowska represented the hosts and Schaquilla Nunn and Katarina Vuckovic were on the winning side.  Isabella Slim started her return to Europe with a big scoring role and was joined by three rookies making their professional debuts in Courtney Range, Beatrice Attura, and Alecia Cooley as Herner beat Saarlouis 75-68.  Sabine Niedola looks likely to have one of the best individual seasons in the league again as the visitors also had a pair of players making professional debuts in Shalethia Stringfield and Paige Crozon.  Wasserburg looks set to be the best team in the league again as they beat Lindsay Sherbert and Bad Aibling 96-66.  The game also featured a pair of players who just finished being teammates at Old Dominion as Annika Holopainen made her return to Europe for the hosts and Destinee Young made her professional debut.
