Senegal started the final better, but the rest of the game was all Nigeria as they got the 65-48 win and completed an undefeated tournament.  A great result for Nigeria continues to suggest that with continued organization, the team’s available talent could turn them into the continent’s powerhouse.  Astou Traore led Senegal again, which got her the MVP honors in a loss.  Five different countries were represented in the team of the tournament as Traore was joined by Italee Lucas of Angola, Evelyn Akhator of Nigeria, Leia Dongue of Mozambique, and Naignouma Coulibaly of Mali.  Before the final, Mali at least sent the fans home with something to celebrate as a 75-52 win over Mozambique got them the last medal.  The day started with an exciting game for 7th palce as Ramses Lonlack and Cameroon came up just short in their comeback as they lost 86-83 to Egypt.  The Ivory Coast then beat Angola 61-56 for 5th place.
