Division A:
The quarterfinals were played on Thursday as a win was the only way to grab a spot in next summer’s World Championship. New Zealand had a good start in their quest to benefit from combining Oceania with Asia, but South Korea controlled the second quarter and there was no answer for 2018 WNBA Draft prospect Park Ji-Su as they won 64-49. Australia took care of business early and rolled past North Korea 81-48 with Alanna Smith making the most of her opportunities as Ro Suk-Yong could not drag her team along with her heroics alone. China also wasted no time in dealing with the Philippines, blasting them 117-43. Taiwan saved their strong efforts for the most important game, but Moeko Nagaoka made sure that Japan would advance as they won 73-57.

Division B:
Kazakhstan had a bye due to the uneven number of teams, but everybody else had their quarterfinal game. The only close game saw Natalya Koneva and Uzbekistan surge to start the second half to beat Singapore 84-79. Lebanon eased past Sri Lanka 86-37. It took a little while longer for India to establish control against Fiji because of Miliakere Koyamainavure, but they eventually got the 93-51 win.
