Semifinals:
The first semifinal largely went as expected with Alba Torrens helping Spain win 68-52. Belgium’s stars were kept bottled up and they were left frustrated by the favorites. The other game was closer for a while, but France finally found a way to break it open in the fourth quarter against Greece to win 77-55. That sets up the anticipated finals matchup as France will be looking to finish the tournament undefeated.

5th Place Playoffs:
The day started with the two games to determine the last two teams to also secure qualification for next year’s World Championship. The first game was close throughout, ending in thrilling, but controversial fashion as Latvia left 68-67 winners. Cecilia Zandalasini shouldered the responsibility for Italy again, but could not get them over the line. There was much less drama in the other game as Quanitra Hollingsworth and Turkey beat the Slovak Republic 72-56.
