The cup was played after the regular season this season instead of during it. Whitney Bays had a good game for ZTE to open Friday’s action, but Sopron won 77-61. Zsofia Simon and Gyor won the next game 67-53 over Atomeromu. Egle Sulciute and Pecs more than doubled up Vasas 94-46. The best game of the day was saved for last as Maja Skoric and Cegled outlasted Tierra Ruffin-Pratt and Miskolc 68-66 as they kept four of their starters in for the entire game.
The first semifinal on Saturday was between the traditional powerhouses. Yvonne Turner led Sopron to the 78-59 win over Gyor. The other game was much closer as Maja Skoric and Nora Nagy-Bujdoso teamed up to help Cegled past Pecs 79-77 as they won another close game playing four of their starters for the entire game.
On Sunday, Jessica Kuster led Pecs, but it was Brianna Kiesel and Gyor winning the third place game 71-66. That set up the final, where Maja Skoric had another good game, but Cegled finally ran out of steam against Sopron, losing 94-64 as Shenise Johnson and Yvonne Turner led the victors.
