The expanded playoffs kicked off on Saturday and paid off immediately. Hainaut would not have qualified under the old format, but they pushed Lattes Montpellier to overtime before Elodie Godin and company prevailed 76-75. Katherine Plouffe led Nantes, but they lost to Charleville 89-68. Marie Sy and Villeneuve beat Lisa Berkani and Mondeville 82-76. In what is possibly the most intriguing series, Bourges beat Landes 78-65. The teams will swap venues next Saturday with the home teams all needing wins to avoid being swept.

The new format started on Sunday. Angers was in the worst position once the standings were calculated, but they started off with a 72-69 win over Romy Bar and Nice thanks to Mousdandy Djaldi-Tabdi. Tarbes made immediate progress towards safety as Ivanka Matic and Adja Konteh led them to an 80-73 win at Lyon. The next set of games will be played on Saturday.
