All four quarterfinals series started on Tuesday. Diana Taurasi and UMMC had no trouble in Ekaterinburg, beating Schio 92-47. It was a similar story in Orenburg, where Nadezhda beat USK Praha 80-57. Dynamo Kursk was on the ropes for a while as they tried to avoid their first loss of the competition, but the duo of Angel McCoughtry and Nneka Ogwumike helped them beat Bourges 76-71. Candace Parker provided an immediate impact in her debut for Fenerbahce as they beat Jelena Milovanovic and Avenida 78-68. Each series will continue on Friday, with four teams returning home knowing that they need a win to extend their campaigns.
