On Saturday, Shanghai needed to rely heavily on its starters in a game that went to overtime as Breanna Stewart finally led them to the 79-74 win over Huang Sijing and Guangdong. Beijing continues to lead the chase for the top seed as they quickly jumped on Henan to win 88-57.

Glory Johnson had a big game and Peng Shiqing had an excellent shooting performance as Xinjiang beat Tamera Young and Shanxi 91-72 and continue to hold the lead for the key fifth seed.

Those chances nearly increased as Shandong nearly managed to beat Heilongjiang before falling 66-64 as Crystal Langhorne and Ji Yanyan proved to be too much to handle.
