Upper Group:
Saturday’s games included a battle of young Seattle teammates as Brenna Stewart was dominant in Shanghai’s 76-63 win over Shanxi. Henan was able to quickly bring in Cheyenne Parker and give her a debut, but it was not enough with Huang Sijing leading Guangdong to the 71-60 win. Both teams are looking to fill the final two spots in the top group of the next stage and the accompanying quarterfinal berth as the teams head into the final round of games. Henan missed a chance to clinch a spot because of the loss. Beijing lost to Li Meng and Shenyang 79-63 as they rested players knowing that they and Shanghai will definitely be qualifying from this group. The other four teams have plenty to play for on Tuesday.
