Upper Group:
Sylvia Fowles and Breanna Stewart each had efficient games for their teams as Beijing pulled into first place on Saturday with a big start in an 87-63 win over Shanghai. Guangdong shelled Shenyang for the first three quarters, negating any advantages the visitors could have in the final frame in an 82-55 win. Henan looks likely to plummet to the bottom of the standings until they can find a replacement player for Chiney Ogwumike. Sun Jie had a solid game, but they still lost to Jewell Loyd, Wu Tongtong, and Shanxi 84-57.

Lower Group:
Tina Charles helped Sichuan past her former team Xinjiang as both team look for what may only be one more spot up for grabs in the middle group of the next stage. Shandong managed to surprise Crystal Langhorne and Heilongjiang 72-69 in overtime to record their first win of this stage. Wang Cheng Cheng and Crystal Langhorne built a solid lead for Liaoning in the first three quarters, but Bayi completed another comeback after rules restrictions kicked in to force overtime, winning 96-93 behind Sun Mengran.
