The regular season in Spain started with a full slate of games on Wednesday. The day opened in Zaragoza, where Artemis Spanou lead Girona and helped them hold off the hots 67-63. Newcomers Araski had a good start against CREF as Destiny Williams and Taysha Pye tried to carry the visitors by themselves to no avail. Gran Canaria benefited from another team getting kicked out of the league to get a second chance, but failed to win as Izabela Lyra Macedo and Zamarat left the islands with a 68-58 win. Gipuzkoa edged Bembire 62-62 to continue a trend of close games, which also included Ferrol beating Promete 71-69. Powerhouse Avenida had a good start against Sedis before coasting to a 62-53 win with Adaora Elonu leading the way. Al-Qazares also had a good start as a beginner with a 72-69 win over Gernika.
