Games resumed on Tuesday after the All Star festivities. Carolina showed no signs of slowing down as they went to Mayaguez and won 72-60 win Alexis Hornbuckle leading the way. Aguada also picked up a win on the road as they beat Ponce 74-65 despite the best efforts of Tierra Henderson. Utilities issues caused both games scheduled for Thursday to be postponed. Power outages continued and wiped out Friday’s slate of games as well. With few days left in the scheduled regular season, an extension of the season was considered for the first time.
Games were finally able to be played on Saturday, but Lajas was no closer to a win after trading away a key player for draft picks before the deadline as they lost 100-63 to Santurce. There were a pair of excellent individual performances as Maria Blazejewski had perhaps her best outing of the season wiped out by a big scoring night from Kayla Thornton. Morovis went on the road and beat Manati 74-64 as the duo of Pamela Rosado and Shae Kelley helped offset a good game from Ashley Shields to get their team the win.
Lajas was able to trim the margin against Carolina in the final quarter, but still lost to Yolanda Jones and company 65-54. Ashley Shields and Manati benefitted from more balance as they beat Ponce 102-79 despite big scoring nights from Tierra Henderson and Charity Harris. Ali Gibson helped Aguada past Morovis 71-48 as they finish the week in prime position for a playoff place.
