The Italian league switched to a new playoff format with an additional round to add four more teams. The first game took place on Wednesday as Torino got to host a game although they would not have been in the playoffs under the old format. Napoli continued the run that they had started at the end of the regular season as Gintare Petronyte led them to the 60-43 win on the road. Games on Thursday started with another favorite winning as San Martino beat Parma 76-59. Vigarano was starting to show signs of coming together at the end of the season and Amber Orrange led them to a 77-72 win over Parma. Reshanda Gray turned in the performance of the day with monster numbers against Umbertide to lift Battipaglia to a 70-59 win. Each series will conclude with the second game on Sunday to determine who moves on to face the clear top four teams in the quarterfinals.
