Italian League Round 24 March 20th

Parma edged Battipaglia 78-76 to reach .500 as Valeria De Pretto and Christine Clark helped offset a good game from Asia Boyd.  Cagliari would have had a chance at survival if they could have beaten Vigarano, but are now doomed as Nikolina Milic and her crew ran out of steam playing all five starters for every minute of the game in a 61-57 loss.  Ragusa beat San Martino 69-54 as they waited for the result of the bigger game to end the day.  Napoli appears to be finding their stride at the right point in the season after a 79-47 win over Orvieto.  Venezia still stands alone in fourth place as they beat Torino 69-57 despite the best efforts of Jolene Anderson.  Antiesha Brown led Sesto San Giovanni to a 71-60 win over Umbertide as they still harbor hopes for a dramatic late escape to safety.  The big game game finished the day as Francesca Dotto was the leading scorer, but Lucca lost 68-66 to Schio, preventing them from building a big lead in first place.
