After a competitive season, it was down to two teams in China as second seed Beijing hosted top seeded Xinjiang in Game 1 of the finals. The hosts jumped out to an early lead, but the league’s upstarts fought back for the rest of the game, getting the final margin in the fourth quarter for a 70-61 win. Xinjiang put themselves in a position to control proceedings with the next two games in Urumqi. Beijing was able to limit Tina Charles just as their star-stopping was effective in the last series, but it was Peng Shiqing from the less established of the two supporting casts who made the difference. She lead all scorers and delivered a game high in assists. The harrowing 1,500 mile journey with only one day of rest awaits the two teams.
