On Saturday, it was a battle of university sponsored teams as Yakin Dogu beat Istanbul 74-62 behind Kelsey Bone and Tiffany Hayes. Abdullah Gul University recovered with a 78-58 win at Galatasaray. Fenerbahce maintains its lead after a 75-67 win at Gelistirenler. On Sunday, Angel McCoughtry and Mersin kept pace with an 86-68 win over D’Andra Moss and Botas. A game that could determine who exits the league went to overtime before Shavonte Zellous and the rest of the new Adana crew beat Orduspor 89-77. Samsun also won an overtime game 87-84, leaving Edirnespor in last place despite good performances from all four of its foreign players. Cappie Pondexter and Jelena Milovanovic may end up being one of the league’s most lethal duos as they led Besiktas to an 84-77 win to end the weekend in the last playoff spot.
