Australian League Round 16

It was unclear whether the first game of the round would be played on Friday, but SEQ managed to halt all turmoil temporarily and used great games from Jordan Hooper and Lauren Mansfield to beat Leilani Mitchell and Adelaide 89-81.  On Saturday, Dandenong beat Sydney 77-73 as they looked to gain positioning for the postseason.  Natalie Novosel led Townsville past struggling Melbourne 84-60 despite the best efforts of Maddie Garrick.  It was Rebecca Allen taking charge for SEQ in their next game, completing the weekend sweep and entering the playoff places despite financial issues. Carley Mijovic could not keep Perth in the game in the 87-71 loss.  On Sunday, Townsville stayed on top of the standings with a 75-63 win over Belinda Snell and Bendigo.  It was the same story for Canberra as a big Renee Montgomery effort was not enough for a win as they fell 73-69 to Dandenong.
